The secret of bulking up rapidly is to choose an intelligent way. This comprises of adopting healthy eating and sleeping patterns, but more crucially it consist of following an exercise schedule that is most suitable for your body’s muscle growth. As each person’s body is different, it reacts differently to exercises. Hence it is important to find an appropriate mixture of these exercises to plan out a workout regimen.

The first step is to find out your body type. Hardgainers have to be more careful while choosing a workout regimen. While hardgainers exercise as hard as others, they fail to get the results that others get. The primary reason is that they do not exercise intelligently. They should understand that their muscles heal more slowly than other people’s  and so should select an exercise regimen accordingly. Selecting an erroneous regimen causes them to overtrain their muscles. Exercising the worn out muscles actually weakens the muscles a lot more than when the first began exercising.

The most effective workout for a hardgainer should comprise of just 3-4 hours per week in the gym with the duration of each workout not exceeding an hour. This is the best amount of time for a hardgainer to see muscle growth while allowing his muscles adequate time to recover completely between workouts. The optimum workout schedule is to alternate between a day of exercise and rest. In week one, you can exercise 4 days and in week 2, you can exercise 3 days.
